'Tis the season of festivals and Toronto is getting in on the action just days after Coachella 2005 kicks the music spirit into high gear. Over The Top Fest 2005 is taking up residence in Toronto from May 5th to 8th, bringing some of the country's top acts together in one city. Spread out over a handful of Toronto venues, include the El Mocambo and Sneaky Dee's, nearly 40 acts have signed on.
Freakishly amazing line-ups have been put together for Over The Top Fest - example: The Sourkeys, The Vermicious Knid, Wintersleep, Thunderbirds Are Now!, and The Porcelain Gods at Sneaky Dee's on May 7th - and prices for all of the shows stay well below the $20 mark.
Established in 2002 and going strong ever since, this year Over The Top Fest will include some all ages shows, which is certain to make all those under 19 feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Showcasing artists from all corners of Canada, from Halifax's Wintersleep to Toronto's Japanther to Calgary's Chad VanGaalen, and some out of Canada (Georgia's Of Montreal played the launch party), it's rather wise to attend Over The Top Fest.
