Ben Folds and Rufus Wainwright Tour Together Again

Published: 2005-04-29
Reprising their successful co-headlining tour from last year, American pop-rocker Ben Folds and Canadian crooner Rufus Wainwright will hit the tour trail together once again. As of yet exactly what cities the pair will hit remains to be seen, but last time 'round they played 16 north-eastern American cities.

At this moment, only two performances have been confirmed for the tour, both in August, and both in the north-eastern United States. Since the '05 version of the tour is being called a "North American" tour, let's all assume that it includes Canada as well, shall we?

Odds are that this summer tour will have the same set-up as the 2004 incarnation, which means Wainwright and Folds will each play a one hour set, mixing up the performance order each night. Last year the artists' co-headlining tour also included alt-rock trio Guster, but an opening act has yet to be announced for this run.

Currently Mr. Wainwright is touring the land of Europe, while Ben Folds will spend May in the US, and June in the UK. Even if the pair's co-headlining jaunt doesn't touch down in Canada, Rufus will at least be making one appearance in his home and native land: he's booked to play the Ottawa Bluesfest on July 14th.
