Quebec's Archambaultzik Launches Music Download Site

Published: 2004-01-19
A new music download service has come to Canada. caters to Quebec and French music fans. About 25% of the site's music is in French. The company has contracts with all five of Canada's major music labels, so hopes to carry as many as 300,000 tunes by the end of the year. Company officials expect a price war when Wal-Mart and Apple's iTunes joins the music download business in Canada later this year. Apple and Wal-Mart may be able to offer lower prices but with 300,000 tunes available and tunes in French Archambaultzik clearly has the edge in choices. And while the music is not free, it will be a clean file. (See Malicious Code found on Kazaa – Jan.12).
