The Doors, Kalan Porter Play North Bay Heritage Festival

Published: 2005-04-26
The line up for the 2005 Heritage Festival was unveiled last Friday and there were a few surprises. The Doors of the 21st Century will be making a stop at the festival, which runs from July 29 to August 1st. Though Jim Morrison died in 1971 and drummer John Densmore is not participating, the new incarnation will play all the old hits as fans remember them.

The Doors of the 21st Century is made up of original members Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger as well as former Police drummer Stewart Copeland and ex-Cult singer Ian Astbury. The new version of the band has had its share of legal problems in the past with former drummer John Densmore and current drummer Stewart Copeland issuing separate lawsuits against the band, but each dispute was settled.

Also playing the festival is Juno Award winner Billy Talent, American Hi-Fi, Canadian Idol winner Kalan Porter, country artist Carolyn Dawn Johnson as well as many other performers.

Advanced wristbands for the event are $20. For more information on the festival check out
