Sleater-Kinney Book Tour For 'The Woods'

Published: 2005-04-26
With their newest effort, The Woods, hitting shelves on May 24th, alt-punk three-piece Sleater-Kinney will pick up their feet, instruments, and announce their official tour plans for the month of June. The 16-performance jaunt will take the girls from one coast to the other, making enough stops in between to satisfy fans in both the US and Canada.

Kicking off on the last day of May in Seattle, the Washington trio will head south down the West Coast, then make their way towards the East to wrap things up in Knoxville, Tennessee, on what just happens to be the last day of June. Seeing that Sleater-Kinney already made the pilgrimage to Vancouver this past March, both of the band's Canadian dates will be on the Eastern half of the country.

Accompanying the seasoned vets on their North American tour are indie rockers Dead Meadow and singer/songwriter Mary Timony. Each act is booked for half of the tour, with Dead Meadow warming up the crowd for both Canadian stops of Sleater-Kinney's tour. For a full list of tour dates and what opener is opening when, go to

Sleater-Kinney's upcoming gigs with Dead Meadow opening:

June 18, Toronto, ON - Phoenix
June 19, Montreal, QC - Club Soda
