Recently, the name of Halifax rock band Wintersleep keeps popping up here and there at a fairly frequent rate, and their name may just pop up in a town near you as the quartet takes their show across Ontario and Quebec next month. Seeming to be spending more time out of the Maritimes than ever before, Wintersleep have five dates lined-up on the mainland, and two more closer to home.
After playing a hometown gig and hitting up Clare, Nova Scotia, the band will head off to the grand old province of Quebec to play Montreal on May 3rd, and the provincial capital a few days later on May 5th. Four dates in Ontario will wrap on May 14th when the quartet makes their way to Hamilton to rock the Casbah.
Wintersleep are making the rounds in support of their newest effort, which was never really given a name. Released in February 2005 through Dependent Records, the album features 11 new tracks from the band, and happens to be the follow-up to Wintersleep's 2003 debut, which was also never given much of a title (it's just called Wintersleep).
