Dandy Warhols Release Details of New Album

Published: 2005-04-25
Ever the epitome of stoner culture, The Dandy Warhol's web site has just been redone in such a way that 3D glasses are needed to view it properly, that or you get double vision. This all ties into the fact that the first single chosen from the band's upcoming fifth studio effort is called "Smoke It", and the title of the album in question is Odditorium or Warlords of Mars.

The 12 tracks off Odditorium are:

"Colder Than The Coldest Winter Was Cold"
"Love Is The New Feel Awful"
"Easy"
"All The Money"
"Movin' Out"
"Holding Me Up"
"Jamaica"
"Totally Insane"
"Smoke It"
"Down Like Disco"
"This Time"
"Home"

Whether or not Duran Duran had a hand in this Dandy's album (Nick Rhodes produced Welcome To The Monkey House, Simon LeBon sang), word comes that the two bands are still chummy. Duran Duran recently toured North America, and this all ties into the fact that The Dandy Warhols are going to do the same thing themselves, with solid plans to be announced in late May.

Even those who aren't normally fans of The Dandy Warhols' psychedelic pop-rock might be interested in the documentary Dig!, starring the band alongside The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Released on DVD on April 12th, the must-see film for music lovers follows the two bands - best of friends and bitter rivals - over the course of seven eventful years.
