Bryan Ottoson of American Head Charge, Found Dead

Published: 2005-04-21
Minnesota natives, American Head Charge have been on a throbbing North American tour with super groups such as Mudvayne, Bloodsimple, and Life of Agony. Shocking news came before their performance in North Charleston, South Carolina, when American Head Charge guitarist, Bryan Ottoson was found dead on the band's tour bus. Sources at MTV quoted a North Charleston police officer that said Ottoson was found with a bottle of prescription drugs and that he had consumed a lot of alcohol the previous night. The musician's publicist could not confirm or deny this account. Before The Feeding was released Ottoson had commented to reporters how the band had struggled with drug addiction and other demons after poor sales of their 2001 album, The War of Art.

The show that was scheduled on the evening of Ottoson's death was evidently postponed, and the cause of death still remains a mystery. The Mudvayne tour was scheduled to continue on its path to Lake Buena Vista, Florida, however that date has since been cancelled, and the remaining members of American Head Charge are not known to be rejoining the tour.
