Keeping classical music alive and well, it's once again time for the Sonic Bloom gala in support of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Now running in its third year, the event brings well-known Canadian radio artists to perform as the TSO acts as one gigantic backing band.
This year's Sonic Bloom, to be held on June 4th, sees legendary jazz pianist Oscar Peterson, acclaimed singer/songwriter Ron Sexsmith, and Toronto singer Esthero step up to the plate. Past years have put the likes of Josh Groban, Blue Rodeo, Sarah Slean, Buck 65, and Matt Dusk up on stage with the brass and strings.
Hoping to raise $1 million in support of the TSO, Sonic Bloom doesn't just include the unique concert, but also a silent auction and a dinner party beforehand. Those who are interested in attending the event and supporting the TSO can buy tickets for just the concert and after-party, or tickets that include the dinner as well. Here's the skinny:
Sonic Bloom - Saturday, June 4th at Roy Thomson Hall
Single tickets: $30-$150 (concert and after-party) at 8 p.m.
Full Bloom party tickets: $500 each or $5000 for a table of ten (reception, dinner, VIP concert seating, after-party, tax receipt)
