Alanis Morissette Takes Her Acoustic on Tour

Published: 2005-04-20
Canadian songstress Alanis Morissette is hitting the road for her first-ever unplugged tour of the continent. Taking the singer on a 27-city adventure, the tour comes in support of Morissette's upcoming acoustic version of her breakthrough album, Jagged Little Pill. The new version of the album features the same tracklist as the original 1995 record, and will be released through Starbucks coffee shops in June and through regular music retailers six weeks later.

Kicking off her summer tour on home ground in Toronto on June 6th, Morissette will spend almost all her time in the United States. There is just one other Canadian stop on the two-month-long tour: Vancouver on July 9th.

The first album to put the critical spotlight on Morissette, Jagged Little Pill is best known for its songs of anger and dissatisfaction. It's safe to say that Morissette is a happier person these days, engaged and more comfortable with the world. She has said that the acoustic version of Jagged Little Pill will contain reworked songs that portray her past, present, and future.

Alanis Morissette's upcoming Canadian performances will be as follows:

June 6, Toronto, ON - Hummingbird Centre
July 7, Vancouver, BC - Orpheum Theatre
