At The Drive-In Compile Their Best

Published: 2005-04-14
It seems there hasn't been a band as mourned as At The Drive-In, since, oh say, The Beatles took that tragic journey to Splitsville. After At The Drive-In shut down in 2001 (by way of an "indefinite hiatus"), it spawned two new groups: The Mars Volta and Sparta. Every single time either of those bands is mentioned, At The Drive-In invariably gets a shout out as well. It's dedication pure and simple.

Well now all those forever dedicated to At The Drive-In and all they put forth (and those wondering what all the fuss is about) can head to the music store come May 24th to pick up a posthumous compilation from the post-punkers. Called "This Station is Non-Operational", the anthology is set to feature 18 tracks that span At The Drive-In's career.

Next to tracks from ATDI's four studio albums, the "best of" will also feature b-sides and live cuts, as well as a cover of The Smiths tune "This Night Has Opened My Eyes", and Pink Floyd's "Take Up Thy Stethoscope and Walk." Issued through Fearless Records in North America, "Non-Operational" comes complete with a DVD, with the video for the band's breakthrough track "One Armed Scissor" included.

The track-listing of "This Station is Non-Operational" is:

Audio CD:
"Picket Fence Cartel
"Napoleon Solo"
"Metronome Arthritis"
"One Armed Scissor"
"Non Zero Possibility"
"Incetardis" (b-side)
