Bloc Party Book Up The Rest of 2005

Published: 2005-04-14
Bloc Party is lapping up their rare fortune of praise from North American press and audiences alike. The art-rock quartet JUST finished off a fairly extensive tour of North America a mere five days ago, and they've already booked their return. After playing Europe and Japan, Bloc Party will jet back to America for two shows, then fly to France.

It doesn't end there folks, oh no. Following that, the four-piece will head back to North America for a 12-date run that will see them play Mexico City. The only Canadian city Bloc Party will be visiting this time around is Vancouver on May 29th. Following the tour's July 18th wrap in Philadelphia, the band will get on the European festival circuit, with Glastonbury first up on June 24th. Then they tour the UK again in the fall.

The reason Bloc Party feels it necessary to run themselves in the ground is the massive global success of their debut album "Silent Alarm". With every critic from Tokyo to Toronto saying they have the one up on Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party are destined to win over the hearts of North American audiences, even those that reside in the mainstream.
