Gaining momentum among audiences of the East Coast, Nova Scotia quartet, Slowcoaster, are going to stick with a good thing and make another round about the Maritimes. So far the band has 9 gigs scheduled for the spring, with the next happening in just two days on April 9th in Halifax. Dividing their time between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, Slowcoaster will finish the jaunt off in Fredericton on May 7th.
At the moment, it appears the four-piece doesn't have any plans to visit the mainland, although they did venture off to Ontario a few months back. Check back to Slowcoaster's official web site at www.houseofrock.ca/sloco.php for constant updates as to the band's whereabouts.
Hailing from Sydney, Nova Scotia, Slowcoaster aim to blend all the influences that have ever fallen upon their ears into their music. The traditional Celtic sound of the East Coast is mixed with the rock and country of the '60s, with some funk and jazz thrown in for good measure. In November 2004, Slowcoaster released their debut full-length album, which happens to be called "Where Are They Going?"
"Patio", the first single lifted from "Where Are They Going?" is currently sitting at the top of the East Coast Countdown. Go to www.eastcoastcountdown.com to hear a clip of the song.
