The Books Get 'Lost and Safe' On Tour

Published: 2005-04-06
Just the other day - literally the other day (March 5th) - The Books released their latest album, "Lost and Safe" to already extremely warm and fuzzy reviews, that will most likely only get warmer and fuzzier. It's the Massachusetts band's third record, and it seems that they can do no wrong, so The Books will continue to do right by touring the continent.

The 16-date tour is due to kick off in North Hampton, Massachusetts, and take the band to the opposite side of the continent by the end of June. With the final four days of the tour taking them across sunny California, The Books will be in Canada for a mere two days: once to play a show in Montreal, and shockingly, to play a show in Toronto.

This fact just needs to be mentioned: "Lost and Safe" reportedly features a metal filing cabinet that was converted into a giant speaker as an instrument - does it really get any better than that? Visit The Books' aggravatingly-hard-to-navigate site at to listen to "An Animated Description of Mr. Maps" from the new album, if you can make it past the "pudding, pudding, beef shank" page.

The Books' upcoming Canadian stops:

May 4 Montreal, QC - El Salon
May 5 Toronto, ON - El Mocambo
