Fiery Furnaces Join PETA Campaign

They're not the first musical act to show their love for animals, and they certainly won't be the last, but brother/sister band The Fiery Furnaces have taken the opportunity to shout that love out loud. Eleanor and Matthew Friedberger recently hooked up with animal-rights group PETA for an interview on all things furry (and not so furry).

Childhood pets, childhood pet experiences (such as an unintentional guitar-case litter box), adopting greyhounds, and the inspiration behind the song "My Dog Was Lost and Now He's Found" are all touched upon. To read the full PETA2 interview with The Fiery Furnaces, head on over to

The Fiery Furnaces interview comes as part of PETA's effort to team up with familiar names and faces to promote the proper treatment of animals. Other musicians that have signed on for the cause are emo band The Used, New York garage rock trio The Roger Sisters, and indie rockers Mae.

In other Fiery Furnaces news, the critically acclaimed indie rockers recently put out an album of b-sides called "EP". Not really an EP at all, the album houses 10 tracks and runs over 40 minutes. The band is also on the road at the moment, but unfortunately don't have any Canadian dates scheduled. They will, however, make an appearance at Coachella, where many a Canadian is certain to be this spring.
