Abdul Charged, Mikalah OutÖJust Another Day on 'Idol'

Published: 2005-03-25
After the unusually long period of voting on American Idol, some trouble came bubbling up for Ms. Paula Abdul in relation to her accident this past December on the San Fernando Valley Freeway. The singer/Idol judge was accused of committing a "hit and run" from the accident; Abdul pleaded no contest to the charge, was ordered to pay a $900 fine, and was placed on probation for a period of 24 months. While Abdul has not been cast away from American Idol, Mikalah Gordon is no longer in the race for the Idol crown.

Las Vegas-based Gordon, the cheeky 17 year old that sang Taylor Dayne's "Love Will Lead You Back", evidently was left behind when Idol fans recast their votes, keeping the singer out of the competition.
