The High Dials Wake The Phantoms

Published: 2005-03-24
Montreal quartet The High Dials spent the last few months pounding away at their second long-player, and their hard work has paid off nicely. Due for release in the summer, "War of the Wakening Phantoms" was mixed by David Bianco (Teenage Fanclub, Frank Black), and rumour has it that the cover-art will feature a cape-wearing monkey. Hopefully this will be one of those rumours that holds true.

Before "War of the Wakening Phantoms" hits stores, The Dials will spend the spring flexing their stage muscles. The four-piece already hit up SXSW last week, and they'll spend their April on a short tour of the Eastern half of Canada. So far there are 6 shows scheduled, and fans can expect more to be announced for June.

Formed in 2001, The High Dials put out their debut full-length "A New Devotion" two years ago. The record featured 18 tracks, some of which can be heard at The High Dials official site at www.thehighdials.com. It's also possible to listen to three tracks off the band's new disc, but some digging on the message board is required.

The High Dials' upcoming stops:

March 31 Saint John, NB - Tapps
April 1 Halifax, NS - Reflections Cabaret
April 2 Fredericton, NS - Bugaboo Creek Pub
April 3 Moncton, NB - Paramount
April 8 Ottawa, ON - Zaphod's
April 9 Montreal, QC - Petit Campus
