Jennifer Gentle Prove Themselves This Spring

Published: 2005-03-24
Grabbing a lot of attention from the North American press lately, Italy's Jennifer Gentle will attempt to live up to the hype that precedes them as they tour the continent. The psychedelic indie-rock duo kicked things off in the City of Brotherly Love (also know as Philadelphia) yesterday (March 23rd) and won't quit until they hit Baltimore a month later.

Part of Jennifer Gentle's 26-date jaunt includes three stops in a place we like to call Canada. Dragging Washington D.C. indie-rock act Dead Meadow across the border for some good ol' fashioned Canuck fun, Jennifer Gentle will play once each in the country's major centres of Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto.

Already on their third long-player, Jennifer Gentle is shiny and new to most North American audiences. Legendary indie label Sub Pop recently picked up the two-piece, and as part of the deal are distributing their latest effort called "Valende". Featuring 10 tracks written by guitarist/vocalist Marco Fasolo, the record was just released on these shores in January 2005.

Jennifer Gentle's upcoming Canadian stops:

March 29 Montreal, QC - l'Hemisphere Gauche
March 30 Toronto, ON - Horseshoe Tavern
April 8 Vancouver, BC - Brickyard
