British Columbia-based musician Harry Manx will spend some time in Ontario next week, playing three shows in the province. The folk artist will play the first of the shows in Ottawa on March 31st, as part of a show put on by the Ottawa Folk Festival. Tickets for the event, which also features opener Frida's Bow, are available through the Ottawa Folk Festival office for $25 advance, and $30 at the door.
After Manx brings his mix of West and East music to Ottawa, he'll take it on the road to Belleville and Parry Sound, eventually making his way back to the West Coast for a series of shows in both British Columbia and Alberta this April. Manx will also dip down to the States for a few shows, and come summer he'll be one busy bee, hitting a variety of festivals around the country.
Now on his fifth full-length album, Manx continues to blend the blues with the sound of Indian ragas. His latest effort is the brilliantly titled "West Eats Meet", which was released last April. It's possible to listen to a few tracks off the unique album if one ventures over to www.harrymanx.com.
