Gorillaz Battle Their 'Demons' In May

Published: 2005-03-18
Animated alt-rock and hip hop band, Gorillaz, has announced their cartoonish return with the creation of their second full-length album. The band worked alongside DJ Dangermouse (creator of "The Grey Album") at Kong Studios to come up with "Demon Days". Slated for release on May 23rd in the UK and the following day in North America, the record will be Gorillaz's first since the 2002 remix album "Laika Come Home".

A song called "Feel Good Inc" will be the first single taken from "Demon Days", and just happens to feature New York's De La Soul. Other guest spots include buzz rapper MF Doom, Ike Turner, and Roots Manuva. Gorillaz will also be reprising their fascination with one Clint Eastwood, this time naming a track after one of the actor's most famous roles: Dirty Harry.

The track-listing of "Demon Days" is:

"Intro"
"Last Living Souls"
"Kids With Guns"
"O Green World"
"Dirty Harry"
"Feel Good Inc."
"El Manana"
"Every Planet We Reach Is Dead"
"November Has Come"
"All Alone"
"White Light"
"DARE"
"Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head"
"Don't Get Lost In Heaven"
"Demon Days"

Taking an anonymous turn under the cover of Jamie Hewlett's animated band members 2-D, Russel, Murdoc, and Noodle, Gorillaz is the brainchild of Blur's Damon Albarn. The last proper album Gorillaz released was their 2001 self-titled debut, which featured the extremely popular "Clint Eastwood" single.
