Cocteau Twins Decide Against Reunion

Published: 2005-03-18
Although they signed up to perform at Coachella ages ago, it seems the much anticipated reunion of Cocteau Twins just wasn't meant to be. Before the group even had a chance to get their reunited selves off the ground, they've already called it quits with no plans to try again. The Scottish dream-pop act was expected to be a huge draw at the spring festival, where they were to headline the first day (April 30th).

The official statement released reads like this: "It is with regret that Cocteau Twins announce they will not be performing at the Coachella Valley Music Festival on April 30 as had been planned. Due to personal reasons, member Elizabeth Fraser has decided that she is unable to participate in the reunion, and apologies for any inconvenience that this has caused."

Cocteau Twins first broke-up quietly in 1998 while they working on a follow-up to their 1996 album "Milk & Kisses". The band formed in 1979, with lead singer Elizabeth Fraser defining their sound with unique, ethereal vocals. Not including their recent "reunion" Cocteau Twins were together for 15 years and eight proper albums.
