Oasis Announce Final Track-List of New LP

Published: 2005-03-17
Oasis has finally released all of the details on their upcoming sixth studio album. Earlier this month the Manchester quartet announced that the effort has been titled "Don't Believe The Truth" and will hit North American shelves on May 31st. This week the band proceeded to fill-in fans on the official track-listing of the record, which will feature 11 new songs.

The first single lifted from the record will be a track called "Lyla", which Noel Gallagher has described as "the Soundtrack of our Lives doing The Who on Skol in a psychedelic city in the sky (or something!)". Crazy.

The track-list of "Don't Believe The Truth" is:

"Turn up the Sun"
"Mucky Fingers"
"Love Like a Bomb"
"The Importance of Being Idle"
"The Meaning of Soul"
"Guess God Thinks I'm Abel"
"Part of the Queue"
"Keep the Dream Alive"
"A Bell Will Ring"
"Let There Be Love"

At the stage where they can put white noise to a record and people will still buy it, Oasis are promising something more on "Don't Believe The Truth". In January Noel told NME: "The finished album is my favourite one of the last four." All four members of Oasis shared song writing duties on the album, which is the follow-up to 2002's "Heathen Chemistry".

Oasis will tour the globe in support of their new record, even making their way to Canada. Unfortunately their June 17th date in Toronto is already sold out, but if anyone has loads of money lying around you could certainly use it to fly to Europe to see Oasis play one of the many festivals there; they're already confirmed for Germany's Hurricane and Southside Festivals, and Italy's Heineken Jammin' Festival.
