Danny Michel Plays BC, Heads To Toronto

Published: 2005-03-16
Canada's very own prolific singer/songwriter Danny Michel will make the long trek from his current Vancouver-base back to his Ontario-home next week. No stranger to criss-crossing Canada, this time Michel will be playing just one show in the Eastern province: March 26th at Toronto's Rivoli, with Toronto's own Kevin Fox opening.

Before hitting Canada's biggest centre though, Michel plans to play a few dates around British Columbia, including a two night stint at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. The reason for the shows - besides the fact that that's what Michel does for a living - is to promote his most recent album "Loving The Alien (Danny Michel Sings The Songs of David Bowie)".

Fairly self-explanatory, the record features 11 covers of the legendary artist's lesser known songs, including "Andy Warhol", "Ashes To Ashes", and "Moonage Daydream". Michel's last "proper" album was "Tales From The Invisible Man", which hit stores back in 2003. In other Danny Michel news, he recently produced fellow Canadian singer/songwriter Leeroy Stagger's newest disc called "Beautiful House".

Danny Michel's upcoming shows:

March 16 Fort St. John, BC - Egan's Pub
March 17 Fort St. John, BC - Egan's Pub
March 18 Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom
March 19 Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom
March 22 Vancouver, BC - The Railway Club
March 24 Comox, BC - The Edgewater
March 26 Toronto, ON - The Rivoli
