Stellastarr* Chug Along On Second Album

Published: 2005-03-10
New York four-piece Stellastarr* are currently holed up in a Manhattan recording studio working on what will become their second full-length album. The band has been working away since January, taking 16 songs to the studio for possible consideration to be included on the as-yet-untitled project.

Hoping to have the album out by early summer, Stellastarr* have been working with David Schiffman, who has been involved with a variety of artists' projects, from The Red Hot Chili Peppers to Nine Inch Nails to Fefe Dobson. This is the first time the quartet has worked with Schiffman; both their 2002 EP "Somewhere Across Forever", and their 2003 self-titled debut were produced by Tim O'Heir (Sebadoh, Radio 4).

One song that's definitely going to be included on Stellastarr*'s upcoming album is "Bloated Wife". According to the band's MySpace web site, it's the very first song that the members of Stellastar* ever wrote. In an interview with Gigwise, the band also revealed that tracks called "When I Disappear",
"Precious Games", "Sweet Troubled Soul", "Born In A Fleamarket", and "Angela" may also be included on the record, which will be a "departure from the last album."
