Published: 2005-03-08
Brit pop giants Oasis have given a name and release date to their upcoming sixth studio album. The record is called "Don't Believe The Truth" and is due to hit stores on May 31st here in North America, and one day earlier in the quartet's native UK. A song called "Lyla" has been chosen as the first single, due a few weeks earlier on May 16th.

"Don't Believe The Truth" is Oasis' first album since 2002's "Heathen Chemistry", which was released to mediocre reviews and lukewarm reception. According to earlier reports, the track-listing of the new record should contain about 12 songs. Speaking to NME, vocalist Liam Gallagher said: "I'm happy with every track on the album."

To support their newest effort, Oasis is heading out on a world tour which will include a long awaited visit to North America. Toronto is one of just three shows on the continent; Oasis will be in the city on June 17th playing the Molson Amphitheatre.
