Australian singer/songwriter Ben Lee is making the rounds this spring, and seeing as one of the biggest Canadian music events is going down this week (CMW), Lee is going to be in town. He'll be playing Toronto's Reverb tomorrow (March 4th) as part of the "Australian Trade Commission" showcase. CMW isn't the only stop Lee will be making in support of his newly released "Awake Is The New Sleep".
After a trip down to Texas to play the SXSW Festival, Lee will head up the west coast to play Vancouver at the end of March. Another stop in Toronto and a performance in Montreal are also included on his 33-stop tour of North America. As an added bonus, tighty-whitey wearing singer Har Mar Superstar will be joining Lee for all of the gigs (Har Mar also guests on Lee's new LP; does anyone smell any stage collaborations?).
Lee once again hooked-up with producer Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Smashing Pumpkins) for "Awake Is The New Sleep". The record is Lee's sixth, and the guy is just 26-years-old. Featuring 14 new tracks, "Awake Is The New Sleep" hit North American shelves last week on February 22nd.
Ben Lee's gigs with Har Mar Superstar:
March 4 Toronto, ON - Reverb (CMW)
March 28 Vancouver, BC - Richard's On Richards
April 15 Montreal, QC - Mile End Cultural Centre
April 16 Toronto, ON - Lee's Palace
