Adam Green Brings 'Gemstones' To Canada

Published: 2005-02-28
Anti-folk jokester Adam Green is back this spring with a new disc - his third solo effort - and consequently, a new tour. The album is called "Gemstones", and just hit North American shelves last week (February 22nd) through the legendary Rough Trade label. Featuring a 15 song track-list (all the songs are three minutes or less); "Gemstones" is the follow-up to Green's 2003 album "Friends of Mine".

Seemingly partial to songs named after women (everyone must remember "Jessica" - as in Simpson), Green included a few more on "Gemstones"; listen to the track "Carolina" and first single "Emily" at his site:

The track-listing of "Gemstones" is:

"Down on the Street"
"He's the Brat"
"Over the Sunrise"
"Crackhouse Blues"
"Before My Bedtime"
"Who's Your Boyfriend?"
"Country Road"
"Choke on a Cock"
"Bible Club"
"Chubby Princess"
"Losing on a Tuesday"
"Teddy Boys"

Green's tour in support of the album is due to kick off on April 7th in California, and continue on until May 6th after two performances in Chicago. The short 13-date jaunt will bring Green across the Canada/USA border twice: once to play in Toronto and again for a show in Vancouver. Currently Green is on an extensive tour of Europe - a place that has embraced him much more warmly - which wraps up in the second week of March.

Adam Green's Canadian stops:

April 13 Vancouver, BC - Richard's On Richards
May 3 Toronto, ON - Lee's Palace
