The Organ Still Make Time For Home

Published: 2005-02-24
Indie darlings The Organ have been working hard at expanding their horizons lately, signing a distribution deal in Australia for their debut full-length "Grab That Gun" (released March 7th) and gaining press around the globe. However, the girls in the band still have time for their homeland, and they're proving so by playing a short tour of Canada this spring as part of the 13th Annual Exclaim Cross-Canada Concert Series.

There are just four dates scheduled, but four is certainly better than none. It's after The Organ completes their tours of Australia, the US, and the UK that they'll be hitting the eastern side of the country. The quintet will start with a show in Toronto on April 14th, and after two performances in Montreal, will finish up in Ottawa four days later.

Oft compared to The Smiths, Joy Division, and just about every other band out there that keeps things on the slow, ambient side, The Organ have been chugging away with "Grab That Gun" since early 2004. New material is on the way, however, with the band entering the studio to record a new 7". The as-yet-untitled project will feature the new song "Let The Bells Ring".
