Raveonettes Dress North America In 'Black'

Published: 2005-02-24
Danish garage rock duo The Raveonettes are looking to return to the global conscious with their new studio album. The effort has been titled "Pretty In Black", and is due to hit stores on May 3rd here in North America, and possibly a few weeks earlier in the UK. Featuring a guest spot by legendary Velvet Underground drummer Maureen Tucker, "Pretty In Black" is the follow-up to The Raveonettes' 2003 debut "Chain Gang of Love".

Revving things up for the new record will be first single "Love In A Trashcan", which is already available for purchase through iTunes.

To support "Pretty In Black", The Raveonettes are going to spend the better part of 2005 travelling the globe. The pair are playing the UK, and for the very first time Greece; Sharin and Sune will also be making an appearance at SXSW, and a stop at Coachella. Their full North American tour doesn't start until April 26th, with two consecutive shows in New York City.

It looks like The Raveonettes will be missing their own beds sorely by the time summer rolls around, for the pair's ambitious 38-date swing won't wrap up until June 16th, with nights in Los Angeles. Included on The Raveonettes world tour itinerary are three Canadian stops. The usual band destinations will be visited - Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal.

The Raveonettes' Canadian stops:

May 5 Vancouver, BC - Richard's On Richards
June 3 Montreal, QC - Petit Campus
June 4 Toronto, ON - Lee's Palace
