Morrissey Lets DVD/CD Do The Touring For Him

Published: 2005-02-23
It's impossible to explain the delight music fans felt when legendary Smiths-man Morrissey announced he'd be giving the whole album thing another go. The result was "You Are The Quarry", and what a delight it was, meeting both critical acclaim and the all important fan-approval. The album sent Morrissey out on a sold out world tour, but sadly not everyone was able to see the renowned performer live.

Well, be sad no longer! While it doesn't match up to the real thing, a live album can cure those missed concert blues, and luckily the Morrissey fix is on its merry way. Not one, but two live Morrissey releases will be put on shelves on March 29th. First up is a DVD called "Who Put The 'M' In Manchester", and covering the audio side is a CD informatively titled "Live at Earl's Court".

The live footage featured on the DVD was taken from a concert last May in Manchester, England, which was both a homecoming and birthday celebration for Morrissey. His most successful album to date, "You Are The Quarry" is covered on "Who Put The 'M' In Manchester", and some classic Morrissey and Smith tunes are thrown in as well. So as not to swindle all those dedicated Morrissey fans out there, the "Live at Earl's Court" CD will have a different track-listing than the DVD.
