New Order Enlist Scissor Sister for 'Sirens' Call'

Published: 2005-02-22
Legendary British band New Order is getting some help on their latest album from a relatively new player in the game of music. Ana Matronic, who co-fronts glitzy New York band Scissor Sisters, is supplying the Manchester band with her incomparable vocals for a song on their upcoming "Waiting For The Sirens' Call". Scissor Sisters had the biggest selling album in the UK for 2004 with their self-titled debut; Matronic is a hot ticket.

The track Matronic is featured on is called "Jetstream", with her vocals appearing alongside New Order lead singer Bernard Sumners. "Jetstream" is being considered for release as the second single from "Waiting For The Sirens' Call", with a track called "Krafty" being the lead off. The album is set to hit stores on April 12th here in North America, and the following month New Order will make an appearance at the Coachella Festival 2005 in California.

New Order recently won the "god-like Genius Award" at this year's Shockwave NME Awards, for their longstanding contribution to music. The band, of course, emerged from the ashes of Joy Division following Ian Curtis' death. And the rest, as they say, is history.
