Velvet Revolver Spend Quality Time with Canada

Published: 2005-02-18
This March the biggest, baddest rock'n'rollers this side of 1978 are set to play their most extensive tour of Canada yet. That's right, Los Angeles' own Velvet Revolver will cross the border to pay some special attention to their fans north of the 49th parallel. Surprisingly, Velvet Revolver will be bumping into seven Canadian cities and not a single American one. See, it really IS special attention.

The wonderfully glam five-piece will also spend some quality time with Canada's southern twin - Australia. Before they visit the land of ice and snow, Velvet Revolver will be playing seven shows Down Under (two in New Zealand, five in Australia); check out the band's official site for a complete list of tour dates.

Tickets for the Canadian tour are available through Ticketmaster, ranging in price from about $30 to $60 a pop. The Vancouver show is already on sale, with tickets for the other six cities becoming available on February 18th & 19th.

Velvet Revolver are still touring in support of their debut album "Contraband", which hit shelves back in June of 2004. Third single "Dirty Little Thing" was just released to radio, following-up "Fall To Pieces" and lead single "Slither" (which VR recently picked up a Grammy for). With ex-Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland on vocals, and three-quarters of Guns N' Roses wielding instruments, Velvet Revolver are one of the few modern-day bands that have that true rock 'n' roll glow about them. It just can't be denied.

Velvet Revolver's upcoming Canadian gigs:

March 22 Montreal, QC - Bell Centre
March 23 Ottawa, ON - Corel Centre
March 24 Hamilton, ON - Copps Coliseum
March 27 Saskatoon, SK - Credit Union Centre
March 28 Calgary, AB - Pengrowth Saddledome
March 29 Edmonton, AB - Rexall Place
March 31 Vancouver, BC - Pacific Coliseum
