British Sea Power Confirm North American Tour

Published: 2005-02-17
After a flurry of internet rumours, the oddballs that are British Sea Power have confirmed the dates of their spring North American tour. The English quartet has a total of 24 performances lined up for April and May, which adds up to a lot of tree branches. The North American leg comes after a 7-stop tour of England and Scotland, which wraps up on April 13th in London.

The indie rockers will hop across the Atlantic at the end of April, landing in Seattle for a performance on the 27th. British Sea Power will spend May 1st hanging out in Indio, California playing to the masses at Coachella; after the festival they'll tour the Southern States, and will eventually surface in the North for the finals stops of the tour. Sadly there is but one Canadian date on the month long jaunt, which will of course be in Toronto.

More specifically, that sole Canadian performance is on May 17th in Toronto at Lee's Palace.

British Sea Power are dragging their stage antics across the continent in support of their upcoming album "Open Season". The record will be the band's second full-length, and the follow-up to 2003's delightfully quirky "The Decline Of British Sea Power". Set for release on April 4th in the UK, "Open Season" features 11 new tracks which just happen to run in this order:

"It Ended On An Oily Stage"
"Be Gone"
"How Will I Ever Find My Way Home?"
"Like A Honeycomb"
"Please Stand Up"
"North Hanging Rock"
"To Get To Sleep"
"Victorian Ice"
"Oh Larsen B"
"The Land Beyond"
"True Adventures"
