Catching Up With Wide Mouth Mason

Published: 2005-02-16
Remember Wide Mouth Mason? Of course you do! Well the Saskatchewan trio is currently working on their next studio album, which will be the follow-up to 2002's "Rained Out Parade". When it's finally mixed, packaged, and ready to go, the as-yet-untitled effort will be the alt-rock band's fifth full-length album.

Although they haven't been in the headlines for a while, the members of Wide Mouth Mason have been as busy as ever. In addition to working on their new album, and playing gigs as a group, singer/guitarist Shaun Verreault and bassist Earl Pereira both have side projects. Verreault goes it solo, and Pereira has a band named Mobadass; both are performing in the coming weeks, as is WMM.

Wide Mouth Mason's upcoming gigs:

February 25 Regina, SK - Casino Regina
February 26 Regina, SK - Casino Regina

Mobadass' performances:

February 17, 18, 19 & 20 Canmore, AB - The Drake

Shaun Verreault's solo appearances:

February 17 Victoria, BC - Long & McQuade
February 19 Prince George, BC - Prince George Civic Centre
April 2 Winnipeg, MB - Delta

Wide Mouth Mason is best known for their energetic live shows, but they've also had success with their recordings as well. The single "Smile" from their third album "Stew" was a giant hit in the summer of 2000 - it was played everywhere. To catch up with Wide Mouth Mason, go to their official web site at:
