French Kicks Play Trio of Canadian Gigs

Published: 2005-02-11
American indie rockers The French Kicks have decided that their March would best be spent touring the continent, and as such will do just that. Their 20-date tour will actually kick off in February with a sold-out New York show on the 17th, wrapping up on the last Saturday of March (that'd be the 26th) in Washington DC, which is of The Kicks hometown.

Along with a stop in Austin, Texas to perform at SXSW on St. Paddy's Day (that'd be March 17th), The French Kicks will be playing three shows in Canada. On the days of March 8th, 9th, and 10th, the quartet will play the cities of Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto, in that order. The two Ontario shows will be opened by New York band Calla, but not the Montreal gig; Calla will be playing their own show there on March 6th and Quebec City the day after.

The French Kicks are still touring in support of their second full-length album "The Trial of the Century". The 11-track record was released last May, and was the follow-up to 2002's "One Time Bells". At The Kicks' official web site (www.frenchkicks.com), it's possible to download the song "One More Time" from "The Trail of the Century" for no cost.

The French Kicks' upcoming Canadian stops:

March 8 Montreal, QC - La Sala Rossa
March 9 Ottawa, ON - Babylon
March 10 Toronto, ON - Horseshoe Tavern
