Last time they came 'round these parts, The Killers were but yet another pack of nameless hooligans to most people. Things are a bit different these days, with both of their North-American-released singles running straight up the Much Music Countdown. "Somebody Told Me" and "Mr. Brightside" may have made them a household name, but The Killers have to prove they've got what it takes on stage for a whole new group of fans.
The Las Vegas quartet are currently finishing up a British tour as headliners of the NME Awards Tour, after which they will skip around the rest of Europe and Japan for the remainder of the winter. The North American leg of their tour is due to kick off in Phoenix on April 11th, and wrap up 18 shows later in Denver, Colorado, on the 3rd day of May.
To date, the only Canadian cities The Killers have played are Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, and Winnipeg, but that will change soon enough. The four-piece is set to add Calgary and Edmonton to their ever expanding list of "been-there-done-that", with their 4 upcoming Canadian gigs. The other 2 are set for two consecutive nights in Vancouver.
The Killers are, of course, touring in support of their highly successful debut LP "Hot Fuss". The 11-track record has gained them a huge following on both sides of the Atlantic, and landed them on many "Best of 2004" lists.
