The Dudes Scope Out Toronto and CMW

Published: 2005-02-09
Guitar-rock outfit The Dudes are packing up their instruments (and the Dudebomb) and driving straight across the country come Canadian Music Week. Hailing from Calgary, Alberta, the band has a few long nights ahead of them, but landing a coveted spot at CMW will make it well worth it. The Dudes are one of just four Albertan bands that will be making the trek to Toronto - their night to shine is March 3rd at The 360.

Before The Dudes hit up Toronto though, they'll be warming up with a few dates closer to home. The band will play a show in Edmonton with Boompa! labelmates Run Chico Run this Friday (February 11th), and then head back southwards for a hometown gig on Saturday. They'll also make a run out to the coast, playing both Vancouver and Victoria.

Known as one of Calgary's best live acts, The Dudes also took a moment to sit-down in the studio and as a result, have a few recordings under their belt. Their debut full-length "The Guy's The Limit" was pressed in the spring of 2002, and their brilliant "Beepuncher EP" came out in late 2003. Currently the guys are working on their next release, the details of which remain a mystery.

To listen to tracks from both of The Dudes' releases, including the infectious "Mendoza Line (Whoa Caroline)", head on over to:

The Dudes' upcoming gigs:

February 11 Edmonton, AB - Sidetrack CafÈ
February 12 Calgary, AB - Broken City
February 18 Vancouver, BC - The Railway Club
February 19 Victoria, BC - Lucky Bar
March 3 Toronto, ON - The 360 (CMW)
