Ryan Adams Plans 3 LPs For 2005

Published: 2005-01-31
Last year alt. country rocker Ryan Adams proved his ability to produce a massive recording output in a short amount of time when he released the "Rock N Roll" and "Love Is Hell" EPs. Not content to return to the lowly goal of creating just one album at a time, Adams is preparing to release three separate full-length records in 2005 (and one of them is a double album!).

So far just one of the projects has a release date; the double album "Cold Roses" is being aimed for release on April 19th. According to Adam's site (www.ryan-adams.com) the album was engineered by Thomas Glady and produced by Thomas Schick, who also worked with the singer on "Rock N Roll". Unlike the other two releases Adams is planning, "Cold Roses" is being credited to Ryan Adams and The Cardinals (The Cardinals are Adams' touring band).

Another of the albums is called "Jacksonville", also produced by Schick and co-produced by Glady. And last but not least, the simply titled "29" was produced solely by Ethan Johns, who is well known for his work with Ray LaMontagne, Rufus Wainwright, and Kings of Leon. Johns also sat behind the boards on Adams' solo breakthrough "Heartbreaker" and the Whiskeytown album "Pneumonia".

Adams' web site also announces his plans to embark on a world tour this year, playing "North America & European Tour Dates Spring, Summer and Fall". Details of the tour have yet to be announced.
