More Sign On For Warped Tour 2005
The Vans Warped Tour is quickly coming upon its 11th year and rumours are flying left, right, and center as to who is going to be joining the ranks of the Warped army for 2005. Although the list of official confirmed bands for the tour isn't very large yet, the names that have been announced are sure to draw the masses.
As previously reported on Soul Shine, punk rock veterans The Offspring have signed on for Warped 2005, as have The Transplants, Thrice, My Chemical Romance, and Fall Out Boy. Last week news came that Hawthorne Heights, Atreyu, The Starting Line, and Avenged Sevenfold will be adding their talents to the line-up. Bands slated to headline the Smartpunk stage have also been officially announced, and they would be: Emery, Boys Night Out, Hopesfall, and Yesterdays Rising.
And in our never-ending quest to bring you, dear reader, all the information that is floating about out there, we'll risk the very slight chance that the following is a bunch of crap. According to Alternative Press Magazine, a new pile of bands have signed on to participate in Warped Tour 2005 (including Canada's Silverstein and Wales' Funeral For A Friend) though nothing has been "officially" announced.
Bearing in mind that at the moment the following is all hearsay, bands that have been announced to be playing Warped Tour 2005 include:
The Academy Is
The All-American Rejects
Funeral For A Friend
Gym Class Heroes
Hidden in Plain View
Hot Rod Circuit
Jimmy Eat World
Motion City Soundtrack
No Use For a Name
Plain White T's
Reggie & The Full Effect
Something that can be said with absolute certainty is that a DVD of last year's tour called 'Beyond Warped' was released earlier this week on January 25th. The film includes performances and interviews, featuring the likes of Anti-Flag, Billy Talent, and Bouncing Souls. In addition to this, a Ten Year Anniversary Warped Tour DVD is in the works; go to www.warpedtour.com for more information.
