Kaiser Chiefs Schedule First Canadian Gig

Published: 2005-01-20
British music rag darlings The Kaiser Chiefs are mere weeks away from making their Canadian debut. The quintet recently made their North American debut with four shows in the USA, and will be heading back for a short tour of the eastern coast. They've just three dates scheduled so far - one in New York, Philadelphia, and Toronto - and are planning to add another NYC show for February.

The British band will cross the ocean in order to introduce North American audiences to their debut LP 'Employment', which is scheduled for a March release in the UK through B-Unique Records. Sitting behind the boards on the project is Stephen Street, who is known for his work with The Smiths, The Psychedelic Furs, and Blur. According to NME, former Blur man Graham Coxon even made a contribution to 'Employment': revving his motorbike's engine to be used at the beginning of a song.

Sitting among the hot ranks of Franz Ferdinand and The Futureheads, The Kaiser Chiefs have had their fair share of time on the charts, even with just two singles release. At the band's official site, www.kaiserchiefs.co.uk , a clip of their first single 'I Predict A Riot' is available, as is the fortune-telling video for their excellent new single 'Oh My God'. It's fortune-telling in that it looks like they visit Canada for a bit, what with the snow and all (very far away from home).

Having seen Kaiser Chiefs 3 times in the UK, I recommend them highly. Their songs are excellent, they are brilliant live and really enjoy themselves.

Saw the Kaisers twice last week in Los Angeles! Excellent band! High energy and incredibilly nice. You must see them in a small venue before they become big.
