Camper Van Beethoven Have Zero Luck

Published: 2005-01-20
Poor, poor, poor Camper Van Beethoven. You reunite and what do you get? You get your gear stolen not once, but twice, in the span of just a few months, that's what. The '80s band first had their gear and merch stolen while in Montreal in October, and now they've encountered thieves once again, but this time in Dallas, Texas.

It's not as if Camper Van Beethoven didn't learn from their Montreal experience. While sleeping soundly in a hotel, being the thinkers that they are, the band backed their trailer up against a wall so the doors wouldn't open, should anyone want to lift their possessions again. Unfortunately their preventative measures proved entirely useless, as the thieves cut through the sides of the trailer and stole their gear anyways.

Fortunately the California rockers have decided to plough on, and will continue their tour in support of their most recent album 'New Roman Times'. The record is the influential indie band's first album since 1989's 'Key Lime Pie' (they disbanded in 1990, and reunited in the early 2000s).

If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Camper Van Beethoven's twice stolen gear, go to (there is also a list of what was taken). FYI, they're offering a $1,000 reward.
