Les Georges Leningrad Take On the States

Published: 2005-01-19
Montreal band, Les Georges Leningrad, will be spending the next two months furiously touring. The experimental post-punkers have quite an ambitious tour lined up; it will have them play 35 of their notorious live shows in just 40 days. Although the majority of the trio's gigs are set to help them take over the USA, the tour will be book-ended by four Canadian shows (two on each end).

Already generating a loud buzz in the music community, Les Georges Leningrad's three performances at the SXSW Festival in Texas are sure to kick the hype-o-meter up a few notches. As they attempt to win over the United States, LGL will be supporting their 12-track sophomore album 'Sur Les Traces De Black Eskimo'. To download two tracks from the October 2004 record for the price of nothing, go to the band's label Alien 8 Recording's web site at: www.alien8recordings.com.

Alien 8 is also responsible for re-issuing Les Georges Leningrad's debut album 'Deux Hot Dogs Moutarde Chou' in May of 2004. The record was originally released in 2002 when the electro-punk band was still a four-piece (member Black Eskimo left before LGL moved onto their next album). February 15 London, ON - Call The Office
February 16 Toronto, ON - X-Space
March 25 Ottawa, ON - TBA
March 26 Quebec, QC - TBA
