Cochrane Performs at Calgary's Sun Centre

Canadian rocker Tom Cochrane will end a year of personal highlights and accomplishments in Calgary at the Sun Centre – a former Army base, the Currie Barracks. Cochrane sees the Sun Centre show as a fitting end to the year after his visit to Kabul as a part of a Christmas show for Canadian troops stationed in Afghanistan. Cochrane calls the trio "one of those defining moments of my career".

Earlier this year Cochrane was inducted into the Juno Hall of Fame and he also received the SOCAN Classic Award for "Life is a Highway". Cochrane learned about four days before the event that he would be presenting the induction speech for Gordon Lightfoot's induction into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Lightfoot is one of a handful of artists who are very important to Cochrane. Singing "Early Morning Rain" in front of Lightfoot was a big moment for Cochrane. "I pinch myself every day to think that I've been able to make a living doing what I'm doing," said Cochrane.
