Canadian Musicians Contribute To Tsunami 'WavesToWater' Compilations

Published: 2005-01-14
The support for Southeast Asia following December's tsunami continues to pour in from Canada's music community. The country's top acts have contributed songs to two separate compilations, one with a singer/songwriter vibe and the other with a rockier edge. But since it cost just $10 each to download them at Puretracks, why not go ahead and get both.

All of the proceeds collected from the compilations will go to the 'WavesToWater' effort. 'WavesToWater' is a project created by CARE Canada and Engineers Without Borders Canada, which provides clean and safe drinking water to communities in need, something we can all agree is incredibly important, to aid in the rebuilding of Indonesia.

"Music is a truly universal language," said Puretracks co-CEO Alistair Mitchell, summing up the sentiment best, "so we hope Canadians agree that buying these albums is a great way to assist tsunami-affected communities."
