Mr. and Mrs. iPod Had a Baby

Published: 2005-01-13
The iPod family seems to be expanding quite steadily, and it's now got a nice sized family: poppa 40GB iPod, momma 20GB iPod, big brother iPod Mini, and the newest edition - baby iPod Shuffle. Apple recently unveiled the newest incarnation of iPod in Los Angeles, and it's the smallest one in both size and storage.

Due to the lack of a display screen, it's only about the size of a pack of chewing gum, and comes in 512MB or 1GB sizes (that's 120 or 240 songs to us regular folk). Though it's much cheaper than its larger family members at $99 USD (currently $119 Canadian), do try and not put it through the washing machine after forgetting it in a pocket.

Features of the teeny-weeny iPod Shuffle include a choice of either constant shuffle mode (hence the name), or predetermined play lists before loading. The ultra fun click-wheel still found its way onto the tiny machine, which can be worn around the neck like a new fandangled piece of bling. It comes with a 12-hour rechargeable battery, built in USB port, and the signature iPod headphones that scream "mug me".
