Kings of Convenience Visit the East Coast

Published: 2005-01-13
From Norway to North America The Kings of Convenience will gladly travel to spread the word of their latest studio album 'Riot on an Empty Street'. The acoustic duo's North American tour kicks off February 1st in Orlando, Florida, before creeping up the East Coast for two dates in NYC. Out of the 15 dates scheduled just two will be in Canada, with the tour wrapping up in Minneapolis on February 23rd.

According to their web site, The Kings of Convenience also plan to tour the West Coast sometime this year.

The band's fourth full-length album, 'Riot on an Empty Street' features 12 new tracks from The Kings of Convenience. Just to throw a bit of Canadiana into the mix, two of the songs on the record were co-written by Leslie Feist ('The Build-Up' and 'Know-How'), who also lends her vocals to the effort.

Comprised of Erlend ˙ye and Erik Glambek B¯e (any opportunity to use the character '˙' needs to be taken), The Kings of Convenience released their self-titled debut in 2000, which featured 10 tracks. The indie pop band's sophomore effort 'Quiet Is The New Loud' hit stores in 2001, followed by a remix album later that year. Which brings us to 'Riot on an Empty Street', their third studio album.
