Mclusky Calls It Quits

Published: 2005-01-11
Indie rock trio Mclusky have decided to call it a day and disband after 7 years together. Apparently all the members plan to continue on in the world of music, though just not together. The Welsh rockers released their third full-length album, the brilliantly titled 'Difference Between Me and You Is That I'm Not On Fire' on May 18th, 2004.

Through a message via their web site ( on January 10th, vocalist Andy Falkous explained:

"The three piece rock band known as Mclusky have disbanded, as of Friday January 7th, 2005. The reason for this parting is private, though probably not as entertaining as you'd imagine. Personally, I would like to thank all the people, places and times that occurred on or near us. I'm grateful for the love and to a lesser degree, the hate. There'll be more music soon, from all of us.
Comprised of members Andrew Falkous (vocals/guitars), Matthew Harding (drums) and Jonathan Chapple (bass), Mclusky is quite a beloved band the world round. Their debut album (the also brilliantly titled 'My Pain and Sadness is More Sad and Painful Than Yours') appeared in 2000, followed by 'Mclusky Do Dallas' in 2002.
