To top off a stellar 2004, Scottish quartet Franz Ferdinand can count themselves as the group with the most nominations at this year's Brit Awards. The art-rockers have been included in five categories including Best British Group, Best British Album, and Best British Live Act.
English trio Muse didn't do too badly for themselves either, roping in four nods. They also got a spot in the Best British Group category alongside Franz Ferdinand as did Keane, Kasabian, and Snow Patrol. The last three mentioned Best British Group all received three noms over all, as did The Streets, Jamelia, and Natasha Bedingfield.
Receiving two nominations are the likes of rock quartet The Libertines, urban artist Lemar, neo-soul singer Joss Stone, and crooner Jamie Callum. Others who were nominated but just the once include Morrissey, Amy Winehouse, and The Zutons.
All of the nominees in the Best International Album, International Male Solo, International Female Solo, International Group and International Breakthrough Act are Americans with the exception of U2, Kylie Minogue, and Jet.
The ceremonies of the 25th Brit Awards will take place on February 9th in London, where Franz Ferdinand, U2, and Scissor Sisters will all perform.
