Oasis Releases New Album

During an interview with DJ Jo Whiley at BBC Radio 1, Noel Gallagher announced details of Oasis' upcoming album. Anything released by the Brit-pop band is always highly anticipated and this one, their sixth studio album should be no different. Although it is still without a name, the track-listing of the record is finalized, and will feature 12 new tracks written by the Gallagher brothers, Andy Bell (bassist), and Gem Archer (guitarist). Artwork is currently being chosen, as is a first single to be taken from the new effort. Looking to shake things up, Noel said: "There was an obvious first single but I was singing it. After 12 years of Oasis, Liam thought that might sound a bit odd, people might think he'd left the band. He threw his cans out the pram."

Some people think Oasis' best days are behind them, peaking in the early '90s with releases 'Definitely Maybe' and '(What's The Story) Morning Glory', but according to Noel Gallagher, this new album may just shine as brightly. "The finished album is my favourite one of the last four," he revealed. "Because we're all contributing to the song writing there's a different feel to it. In fact the only songs that sound like Oasis are Andy Bell's funnily enough." The projected release date for the album is May 16th.
