After 10 years together, American Christian rockers The O.C. Supertones announced that 2005 would be the last year of their bandship, late last year. The members of the band still don't know the exact date they will call it quits, but they're already planning their farewell tour, and as a solid act of finality, compile all their hits for release this month.
At the moment The Supertones don't have any plans to play Canada as they say goodbye, but they will perform 8 times in their native States, and also head overseas this summer. The 'best of' CD is set to hit stores on January 25th, featuring 20 of the band's tracks from all 7 albums, plus two new songs.
The track-listing of The OC Supertones 'best of':

In a statement released in November via their web site (www.supertones.com), the The O.C. Supertones announced their break-up: "The O.C. Supertones bid you farewell. Even in writing this sad letter, we hold our heads high. We are proud of this band, our accomplishments, friendships, but mostly, we thank the Lord for what He has enabled us to do these many years. There were several reasons that factored into our decision. Rest assured, however, that after much discussion and lots of prayer, we believe this is the right path."
"You made us," they added, thanking their fans for their loyal support. "You encouraged us day after day on the road, via letters as well as e-mails, through gifts and by your words. We are truly grateful to God for your support throughout the years. Sing as loud as you can back to us this last year. Let us hear your voices!"
